bmp creative // Netflix

Most recently, I worked on a six-month contract to help the full-service production company, bmp creative, scale rapidly in response to a new deal with their client, Netflix. As a contracted Post Lead, I served as a technical expert in the room. I used my experience in all forms of production to troubleshoot workflow bottlenecks between the studio and the post house, and bridge the gap between Account Managers and Creatives. I utilized automation and AI to make review processes more efficient. I identified solutions to pre-production obstacles and production challenges brought to us from their respective teams.

Most impressively, I used all of my skills and experience in production as a Producer, Director, and Editor to help continuously manage a large amount of assets being created for various Netflix Film titles at one time. These were utilized on every current social platform, in various formats, with their own unique specifications. Their common thread? To be compelling, engaging, content that amplifies the Brand. Along with live red-carpet events that needed workflows created, teams trained, and efficiencies made with automation, it was a very busy and rewarding six months. I was an integral part of a very hard-working team to make their recent growth a success.

I have continued to work with bmp creative since, being called on when the project or workload suits my expertise.

Vinegar Hill // Chewy

As a frequent collaborator, I’m lucky to dive into the realm of storytelling with Vinegar Hill, an esteemed documentary production company. When Producing with Vinegar Hill, I foster relationships with the clients, creatives and crew grounded in mutual trust, while also embarking on travels to capture poignant narratives. Anywhere from a DC metro public school classroom, to a Boulder City horse ranch.

Produced for Chewy, this Day in the Life Series brought me to an Equine Therapy Farm for a multi-day shoot. This endeavor demanded not only technical prowess but also extensive and delicate coordination with those we were capturing on film. Navigating the complexities of such an environment required a deep understanding of both the subject matter and the client's expectations.

Vinegar Hill's commitment to authenticity and empathy played a pivotal role. As a producer, I was entrusted with the task of ensuring that the Equine Therapy Farm's profound impact was accurately portrayed. Collaborating closely with both the ranch personnel and their clients, we delicately crafted a narrative that captured the essence of the therapy's transformative effects. This process highlighted the importance of collaboration and leadership, in pre-production and on set, to navigate intricate situations and uphold safety standards. The journey was marked by meticulous planning, sensitive interactions, and an unwavering commitment to storytelling integrity.

Director Andy Kelemen and I go way back. We’ve got that Yin and Yang balance that comes with years of collaboration. For this project, we worked with Elysian Brewing, a Seattle-based brewery part of AB InBev’s group. Elysian wanted to introduce Space Dust IPA to die hard beer connoisseurs and new fans, while also showing how Elysian Brewing embodies Seattle grunge culture and a give-no-fucks attitude.

Production company Dessert Before Dinner , ad agency Tongal, and Elysian’s internal creative team + their brewmasters worked together to develop a script with deep-dive beer language. We then cast an unusual set of characters you’d find in your average Seattle grunge bar, threw heavy production design at a real dive bar, and created a national broadcast spot.

The hero 30 was accompanied by multiple cut-downs for all social platforms, a full stills campaign, dozens of YouTube preroll & IG bumpers (which spot-targeted Elysian’s audience and used specific tags based on the quirky characters in the piece).

This production had a large cast and crew, and required navigating some unique moving parts to successfully execute the extensive amount of deliverables. As a Producer for Dessert Before Dinner, I leaned heavily on my producing and directing experience to align the stakeholders, execute the creative, and deliver some pretty amazing character performances.

Music Choice

My transformative experience at Music Choice stands as a pivotal chapter that laid the foundation for the trajectory of my career. Stepping into the role of a Producer & Editor, I found myself immersed in a dynamic world of music and television, where my responsibilities transcended the ordinary and challenged me to excel in every facet of content creation.

My role encompassed a spectrum of responsibilities that grew through the years, including, but not limited to, directing on-location shoots and in-studio sessions, interviewing musicians of all genres and notoriety, and guiding a team of production assistants and creatives. I cultivated an environment of growth and achievement, ensuring that every member played a vital role in our collective success.

One of the most rewarding aspects was curating original content for Music Choice's flagship shows. Interviewing A-list artists for 'The F Word' and steering shows like 'Live Undefined' and 'Zombie Watch' gave me creative freedom that I thrived on. I soon became a very strong interviewer, taking moxie from the diverse colleagues around me. I ensured the content aligned with the brand, demographic, and budget, ultimately shaping a dynamic lineup that resonated with audiences.

Traveling as the sole producer for on-location shoots brought invaluable experiences that broadened my horizons. I worked in close synergy with cross-functional teams, from Marketing to Ad Sales, ensuring that our original shows met brand expectations and seamlessly integrated with broader initiatives.

This journey of growth and achievement was punctuated by promotions that recognized my contributions and commitment. Music Choice nurtured my growth, amplifying my ability to track trends, direct talent, craft story in the edit, and collaborate on every aspect of production.
